Dear Residents and Families:
We want to provide you an update with what is going on in our Community related to COVID. We have had another round of testing. This has resulted in finding a few more positive staff members and more residents that have tested positive.
We have also had staff and residents who have previously tested positive but have now have returned to work or had isolation protocols lifted according to local health department and CDC guidance.
We continue to have the positive residents who remain in the building cared for while isolated in their rooms by staff who exclusively attend to the needs of COVID positive residents. These residents are receiving cares using heightened infection control measures.
We will be continuing our mass testing until we no longer have any positive results for a period of time and the health department deems the Community to be outbreak free. We will immediately notify residents, residents’ primary care providers and responsible parties/families upon receiving the results after each round of testing. We continue to monitor residents for signs and symptoms of the virus, and if anything is noted, we will contact a resident’s physician and responsible party to discuss next steps.
We will continue to provide general updates on at least a weekly basis until we reach outbreak free status.
As a reminder, we have temporarily suspended all window visitation. We know that the holiday season makes it even harder not to be able to visit your loved ones. We are available to facilitate phone calls and video calls as need. You can also feel free to drop of packages or food for residents, and if you do so, just make sure to wear you mask as you hand off items to staff.
We are anticipating the roll out of the vaccines and as soon as we have more information about the timing and process, we will provide you with more information.
We continue to strongly encourage residents (and ask families to encourage residents) to:
- Not take trips outside of the building if at all possible (we can work with residents to assist them to obtain anything they may need or to connect with friends/family);
- When outside of their rooms:
- Wear masks;
- Practice good hand hygiene; and
- Engage in social distancing.
Please reach out with questions, concerns, or requests for assistance.
